    Tell You What the New BC Curriculum is Like

    都说加方课程改革,到底改革在哪里? 都说是新课程,究竟怎么个新法? 探索社会学课后,我们再来看看科学课吧。

    How is the BC curriculum different from the past?  After Social Studies, Let us see what is happening in the Science Lab.

    From Knowledge Lecture to Learn in Practice

    这个单元学习生物课的物种多样性和进化,重点分析鸟类,假设你是老师,你会怎么来安排这个课程? 有几个选择:

    This unit is about biodiversity and this class is mainly for birds. If you are a teacher, how are you going to plan for this class?

    方案(一)上图片,学生观察、老师提问然后总结。

    Plan A; show pictures, students observe, teacher asks and summarize.  

    方案(二)上图片,老师引入并提问;学生观察、讨论;老师引申并总结。

    Plan B: show pictures, teacher introduces, students observe and discuss, teacher expounds knowledge and summarize. 

    方案(三)老师引入并提问;学生根据提供的资源进行搜索并讨论;教师引导学生根据材料和思考进行分类总结;教师启发学生根据材料和讨论进行自我思考。

    Plan C: teacher introduces and asks questions, students do research and discuss with source provided, teacher guides students to think and sort information from all sources, teacher inspires students based on their personal opinions and judgements.

    如果你是学生,你会更喜欢哪种课堂?只想简单完成任务的人也许喜欢第一种,简单明了、考试可以拿分;好学的人也许更喜欢第三种方案,有自我思考的空间,能进行知识学习加工。在枫叶,我们会使用哪种方案呢???

    If you are a student, which plan do you prefer? Which one do you think is being conducted at Maple Leaf?

    我们会使用第四种方案。

    We have Plan D.

    方案(四)

    n  老师引入并提问;teacher introduces and asks questions;

    n  学生分组,老师为其提供不同形状的工具和小物品让学生来模仿鸟类进食;students are grouped up, teacher provides them with different shapes of tools and objects to imitate birds to eat;

    n  学生操作并根据刚才的操作经验回答问题;students find answers from their experience in the practice;

    n  老师引导学生讨论和分享;Teacher guides students to discuss and share:

    n  学生根据提供的资源进行搜索并进一步讨论;Students do source researches and discuss again;

    n  老师启发学生根据资料、讨论和自身经验来思考和总结(顺便引出之后的学习内容)。Teacher inspire students’ personal opinions on the base of practice, resource, discussion and personal experiences.

    为什么我们使用方案(四)? 因为加方新课程中强调学生自己动手的过程。 通过这样的设计,先绕过资源搜索,避开文字讲述,学生能在具体实践中通过自身体验直接寻找答案。他们通过亲身感受将知识和逻辑联系起来,从而对之后将要进行的资源搜索和讨论有更加清晰的感受和深刻的理解。

    Why we choose Plan D? Only in this way, students are given the opportunity to be exposed to the first-hand learning experience. They learn from hands-on-practice rather than reading information. This visual and tactual experience can enable students to link what they read to how they feel, so that they will have a better understanding of the knowledge in a new dimension.

    这只是新加方科学课中新的教学操作方法。科学课新课程的要求远远不止这些。 请听下回分解。
