    程伟老师的公开课采用图片导入的方式,通过大连视觉图片的展示教授小说中行为动词和描述性语言形容词的用法,让学生真正能够理解本堂课所学词汇的含义,并能够真正的运用到写作和口语表达中。通过小组活动的方式,让学生分析文章情节,回答相应问题,并指导学生在前做展示。整堂课以学生为中心,让学生在读中用英语思考,掌握行为动词和形容词在小说情节描写中的运用。

    Wayne Cheng lead in his class with multitude visuals which made students understand how to use these action verbs and descriptive language (adjectives) in fiction plot writing. Visuals are really a good way to teach ESL students, especially apply to the writing and speaking parts. Teacher asked students to work in groups with reading questions and to make presentations on these questions in front of the class. The whole class was student-centered which cultivated students’ ability to read and think in English as well as mastering how to use action verbs and adjectives in fiction stories.

    方晓飞老师的公开课的主题是如何使用副词,运用支架教学的教学策略,从对输入文章的副词语法点分析,到副词的比本用法和其由形容词形式变副词形式的规则,及到形容词和副词的辨析,最后以看图写句子,教师的设计环环相扣。期中包括VOA一分钟美语的应用,视频导入,分组造句抢答,单词卡分类,和课堂小结。 整个公开课周,学生积极参与,教学进度进展顺利。

    The Demo class given by Fang, Xiaofei mainly focuses on the uses of adverbs.  The teacher gives students a well-organized lesson by applying the teaching strategy of scaffolding in her class. From the analysis of the grammar points in the reading input to the students to the basic forms and uses of the adverbs. Then she moves to teach students how to identify adjectives and adverbs. In the end, she leads students into picture sentences writing. There are various activities, such as English in a Minute video watching, vocabulary grouping activity, racing to answer questions in groups, and summary of the lesson. During the whole demonstration week, the students could participate actively, and the teaching process went on smoothly.

    王红军老师本周公开课的教学重点,基于对水的信息的输入(听力/阅读),学生们获得相关背景信息,从而在教师创建的情境中进行探讨(输出 )。 首先,学生会阅读“水循环”一文,然后通过观看PPTS,了解更多关于印度的干旱问题所引起的水荒,在观看过程中学生们会思考,分享,并了解更多的信息。最后,借助图片的帮助,学生们探讨全球性水问题及相关的解决方案。

    During this week, based on the input of water information (through listening and reading), the students will acquire certain background information before they can talk about water in the situation the teacher creates. First of all, students will read the passage of “Water Cycle, and then they will get more information about the drought in India when watching PPTS, during which they will think, share, and learn more facts about water problems in India. Finally, with the help of pictures, the whole class will discuss on the problems of water shortage globally and try to work out certain solutions to it.

    徐建萍老师的公开课主题是小说《越狱》的引入及第一部分,旨在通过有效的课堂活动营造恰当的教学氛围,帮助学生自然吸收相关词汇,进入到故事情节。课程设计新颖,课堂容量恰当,活动过程中, 学生积极参与,全情投入,效果理想,达到了预期的教学标准。

    This demo class focuses on the lead-in part of short story ”The Escape, creating an appropriate teaching atmosphere, helping students absorb relative vocabulary and enter the plots naturally. This class is well designed with fresh and adequate teaching content and its teaching objectives are achieved as expected.

    赵丽娜老师公开课的内容以Pathway II Unit 6 What We Eat为题。学生们在情境教学中获得了与每节课学习目标相一致的收获。每节课上,学生们的参与度都及其高。课上我们主要讲了韩国1969-1995饮食变化、畅谈了当代中国人饮食特点和墨西哥的特色美食。图文并茂,学生受益匪浅。

    The theme of the demo classes is based on Pathway II Unit 6 What We Eat. Students participated fully in situational learning. The learning outcomes cope with teaching objectives from each block. During the demo classes, we shared the information of changing diet of Korean from 1969 to 1995, Chinese diet characteristics and Mexican cuisines. Real authentic illustrations which close to their daily lives arouse students’ sympathy.

    王春景老师的公开课的主题是如何使用情态动词。首先,以图片,音乐以及视频导入,在阅读材料中呈现语法知识,让学生自主发现总结语法点。最后通过大量的练习来巩固所学知识,并通过写句子,采访,表演等形式输出。 整个公开课周,学生积极参与,教学进度进展顺利。

    The Demo class given by Wang Chunjing mainly focuses on the uses of modals.  The whole class is well-organized by being led through pictures, music, or videos. Students get familiar with the grammar points through texts, and then summarize the uses by themselves. They consolidate and output what they’ve learnt through different kinds of exercises, such as sentence writing, interview, and role-play. During the whole demonstration week, the students could participate actively, and the teaching process went on smoothly.
